fireworks finale

By AnthonyM
Although I couldn't catch everything in one photo, the computer can sort of reproduce the feeling.

I took a few shots and pasted together (nine layers in all).

I found photographing fireworks just mildly simpler than lightning. I guess the hardest thing with fireworks is deciding on how long to leave the shutter open. You fight the extremes of horribly long bursty lines, or dots with no action.

I'm pleased with the finallayout but would like to hear any comments or critism.

shot looks nice. It may be a bit heavy with fireworks. By this I mean that there are fireworks across the whole shot horizontally but there is only a line coming up in the center.

All of the individual fireworks look very good though, well done with that. And you've also layered things together here very well as I can't really tell that you did a bunch of PS work.

I guess overall I would enjoy the shot a bit more if there were just the fireworks going straight up and curving to the right, and not have the others on the far left and far right in this shot.

Exceptional, Anthony!!!
Love all the bursts. It really creates the true sensation of being at the show. (At least the one's I've been to.)

Thanks for the comments. It is interesting and quite helpful to see different opinons on what other people want to see.
I may have to play around with the suggestions from Ben and Rob to see what I come up with. PhotoShop makes it so easy to play with these types of layers, I can try a few other ideas without wasting a week. Oh, if only every subject had a clean black background!
