Award Shortlist

First Day

My thanks to everyone who commented or voted on Landscape Arch, and especially to Lory and Ollie, who very kindly gave their awards.

Something a bit different today, as the new life is stirring in the pond. This beautiful dragonfly had just made its way out of the water and was drying its new wings. In fact, the remains of its larva are next to it. The weather was not kind for such delicate new-borns, so I can only hope it will survive the present chilly and wet spell it has chosen for its arrival.

Thanks for looking.

Allan

Nice, this, Has a very Japanese fine-art look about it.

Great shot, Allan! As well as the skillful capture i like the way you've rendered this picture, particularly the hard, almost metallic appearance of the insect's body and the colour and texture of the background. Cheers, Bob

Thanks Bob. The background was a bit messy, so my other half held a piece of art paper behind the scene to give the artwork look, which seemed to work. The simpler the better seems to be the way. Cheers, Allan

What's this Allan? Analogue texture!? Real background?! Could you be starting a new retro-trend - to rival the revival of vinyl? Bob
