I really like the darker versions - you've both made the flower more substantial, and getting rid of the side leaf/bulge has certainly made it more free standing Jude - in fact it looks like he is in flares (!).
Glad you like pictures which challenge rules Stewe, I find there's a fine line between challenging for challengings sake - and doing it for a reason - one to ponder on though!
