Shot captured last month during a birding sortie at our local nature reserve.
While down by the shore I spotted this Mallard skimming the surface speeding towards me, giving me just enough time to zoom in, frame, track and lockon ..... firing away seconds before it zipped past me. Believe me, this is not an easy shot at all and one of the most challenging situations in birds in flight photography if you are to bag razor sharp images containing the speed and blur. In such situations your gear is tested to the limits too it must be said.
All in all I was quite pleased with this action capture, one of my shots of the day too. Viewing large looks even better.
