Floating Mountains...

By Scottishlandscapes
...the A82 road climbs onto the high part of Rannoch Moor and slowly rounds a long corner and this sight greets you,
then you notice the mountains are floating on a sea of mist. You have to find somewhere to stop safely.

You must have been well off the beaten track for this shot, Dougie, but so worth while when conditions like this prevail.

Great composition, making the best of receding layers and striking repetition of shape.

Great shot !!.....that 'sea' of mist certainly creates a unique effect !!.Smile

Looks to be quite dense dropping down into Glen Coe ??.....dicey to drive in, & concealing
the impact of all the peaks......Ooooooer !!.Grin
