Flood from Ida #4

By handlerstudio
Back from my craft show in Tarrytown NY, on the site of the 19th century tycoon Jay Gould's estate, Lyndhurst. Those will be some photos for a later series.....still here with photos from the Ida flood. The lead is of a fence between the railroad tracks which carry freight trains (and sometimes oil from North Dakota...with tank cars 100 cars long or more) and the recreational (for me biking path), the Schuylkill Banks. This fence bottom is probably 8-10 feet above the normal river level. Clearly the water was higher than the fence, which is at least 6 feet high.

Shot with my iPhone 11. You know what they say about the best camera.......

The forces of nature are beyond our control and we may have unleaded them, for sure.

Eye opening photos Peter …nasty bit of business those heavy rains from Ida brought about . Feel sad about all those who lost everything in Louisiana and elsewhere .
Cheers
Walt
