Flood waters

By LinH
River Severn having flooded recently looks lovely in the Autumn sunshine but it was very difficult to tell where the path of the river ran and the road alongside ,usually two fields away from the river was impassable at the height of the flood.

This was taken on a cold ,very misty morning and the sun was just starting to burn off the mist

Lovely atmospheric image Lin. I love the Autumn colour's, unfortunately everything is drowning at the moment.

That looks pretty dire, far too much rain to be comfortable with.
We too are on flood alert from the River Witham.

Horrible weather perhaps, but you got a very atmospheric scene. ( I might have been inclined to trim the image taking off the sky above the trees, but a matter of choice).

Yes I agree Derek.

It appears rather glaring because it was thick fog, I didn't notice how much though until you mentioned it.

a beautifully presented landscape Lin,
looks so tranquil
yet was so dangerous being flooded

The mist/fog has created wonderful conditions for this beautiful image.
I agree with Derek about the sky - so difficult to expose a bright sky with darker f/g
and often best left out without spoiling the tops of the trees.
A little bit of cloning helps if there is just a little bit of sky to cover up.
Love the warm colour contrasting with the dark.
