Flowers in Nunnington Hall

By xwang
I remembered the time when I took this photo... I was sitting at the table having a rest in the room, I saw the flowers. After the first taken, I realised that the strong contrast of white and dark red colour was quite difficult to handle, so I took a few. Do you think this is alright? Only this morning when I looked at it on the computer, I found that they were the mixture of natural and artificial... very clever idea. I thought that they were all natural...Thanks for looking.

Faux or real they look beautiful, however your subject is a little dar especially at the front. It might be worth considering using a fill in flash if future opportunities arise.

Beautifully lit - love the contrast, the papers/posters on the background and foreground add to the character..Like it very much!!

Most National Trust places don't allow flash to be used. Everything becomes a challenge.
If nobody were looking, I would have furtively turned the vase around so that the red roses were on the left, the side where there looks to be lightGrin! This was a difficult one because of that differing light.
Alternatively, you could have moved around to your left and taken the shot from that side, as it's better lit than the right side.
Again, if nobody was looking (they do tend to have a "watcher" in every room), I'd have moved the papers off the table.
I always enjoy their floral displays, it makes the places more homely and inviting.
