Ahhh, if there was a god, and if that god created mushrooms, then that mushroom would look like this!
The quintessential woodland fungi, the most recognizeable mushroom found in the UK, probably in the world, also a home to Smurfs
I have never eaten one of these, i know they are poisonous, many mushrooms are, some contain psilocybin, others contain muscarine, some react to alcohol, others can give instand heart failure. The only hallucinogenic mushroom i ever tried was the good old Liberty Cap, psilocybe semilanceata, the last time in 1999, the first time being 1992... only done them twice, but on each occasion i was treated to quite a pleasent experience, not unlike an LSD trip really, geometric shapes and patterns in front of your eyes, and seeing the martix slip away to reveal the bare bones of life itself; the person i did mushrooms with in 1999 saw exactly the same things as i did, quite a wonderful experience, it really was. I would not encourage everyone to try mushrooms but they certainly will NOT kill you as the mainstreamers would let you believe.
So, would i ever eat a fly agaric now? Probably not now, i am not the psychonaught i was back in the 90s, but i have matured sinc ethe 90s and i think the experience could be even more profound now i am more spiritually in tune than i was back then, so who knows, never say never...
