Focus on the eye

By Fotofunguy
This is a White-eye Duck, it's a female and they don't have white eyes.

Well this was more by luck than judgement, the non-bird photographers that comment and criticise about the position of wing feathers, catch lights and blurring really should "have a go". It takes a heck of a lot of practise.

My number one mentor Mr Phil has bludgeoned sharp eyes and non-messy backgrounds into me quite relentlessly since our first meeting.

Yes it's true what he preaches but this one does indicate that luck plays a major role at times.

This was photographed some time ago at Martin Mere.

There is a glimpse of the sun, I hope it shines on you and that you have a great day.

I like the way the head is steady while the body is shaking and in that regard the position of hte feathers is secondary to the feel of the shot - very well captured.

The exif data shows 'no flash' - is that correct because it does look like flash has been used (on camera?)

No flash permitted where I usually photograph my birds, so none used here, just bright weather conditions.
