Fog in the park

By ASimaging
It was first thing in the morning in my local park and the sun was just starting to come through the fog, no body around it was so quiet and peaceful.

Hi Aaron

This is quite a nice serene and slightly mysterious image. Works well in mono as this adds to the feel and with little colour in the scene makes more of the tones.

For me it requires a little lift in levels to get some deeper blacks and perhaps a little vignette to add to the mood. In addition I feel it is a little off the horizontal and would want to rotate a little anti-clockwise. I'll upload a mod to demonstrate.

Aside from that it is what it is. It lacks a focal point and without wanting to be stereotypical it would be all the stronger with perhaps a shadowy figure coming out of or going into the mist along the path. As a mini landscape however it has merit.

I hope that helps

nice scene, path leads in nice and exposures pretty good, just needs something exta happening to make a difference and lift it from the ordinary.

just to illustrate, i flipped it horizontally so that it reads left to right, and in line with Paul, suggestion which i agree with totally agree, i roughly added a figure from one i took in similar conditions, boosted saturation, contrast and slightly rotated to visually make the sloping horizon easier on the eye. i also ran it through a nik- efex glam glow filter at 20%

all this is subjective and its all perfectly acceptable as it is i am just showing options available to you.

Very well done, but to really finish it off for me, a figure in the mist. Jogger, dog walker, something like that. Iknow you are making the point of desertion and silence, but a single misty figure would add to the effect.
