For Sherlob

By csurry
I posted a pic earlier in the week that had a mod applied by Sherlob (Adam).

Now why I try to do 95% of my composition in camera when the lens/camera combination will allow, I was actually rather taken with the crop.

Original is here

So here it is, I would say in all it's glory, but I used Capture NX for the conversion - nowt wrong with the program as such, but it was my first time using it and I did not find the "live" display of changes as accurate as C1. So that's my excuse if the colours look dodgy.

Any advice on using NX appreciated.

That's the wrong answer Cole - Adam needs to be able to get his head in the door of his house when he returns and sees that I have taken his suggestion Smile

whispers...actually so do I but don't tell anyone

Lovely composition and no jessy's, thought it was wild.
Great capture

There are jesses, just hidden by the front feathers. One very good reason for waiting for captive birds to settle before beginning to take photos as it saves the falconer having to fuss with the bird to much and potentially causing stress.

It does look better loosing some off the bottom, but I do prefer the colour on the other version.

Darn - now I owe half an EC to Adam. I'll never hear the end of it Smile

See I was going for the more natural stumbled across, could be wild scenario as I do too much in yer face stuff with captives Smile

Will have to check the files as I do have some where the bird was more prominent, but this is a 3x4 crop of the original rather than a 2x3.

It'd take more than that Conrad Smile

My first novel is to be called "I never realised photography was a competitive sport"

I take it from getting an EC that the colours aren't as bad as they looked in NX. They looked fine when I exported to PS for sharpening, but there's something not quite right with NX preview.

Thanks all.

Maybe I need to do more in yer face again then instead of going for a more natural look.
