Great shot . . . . and I recall that my first car, an Austin A40, also had a bench front seat and a column gear change. [Is this a showroom with cars for sale or an exhibition? That looks like an original Mini on the right.]

If you Google 898 DOC there are several images of this car, and one indicates its original owner in 1961 was a doctor. Nice to see these old cars still about, from this picture it looks like it is probably in better condition than when it left Dagenham.

Brings back happy memories, as I used to own one, in cream and green. From memory a 6-cylinder engine. Good capture, and I am positive in better condition now than my original one, as it was beginning to show the terminal disease of rust, when I traded it in on another car, a Ford Consul?
