Forgotten Footsteps

By chase
Took a trip out to see this disused Chruch yesterday,I have been wanting to visit since Keith Henson ( epz keithh....as if you didn't know Wink ) told me of it's existance some time ago. It's supposed to be one of the most haunted churches around...but I didn't see anything untoward.
Keith did tell me to go early in a morning for the light coming trough the bottom set of windows.. but...I had a lie-in Wink
A beautiful interior in some disrepair, everything has been taken out & just the empty shell remains.
I was quietly clicking away with the camera when suddenly someone turned the light on ! a quick re-adjustment of my bracketing set & I captured the sunlight from the top set of windows hitting the floor right down the middle of the building, lighting the path that I suspect many have walked for one reason or another.
The view here is from the back of the church looking towards the place where the Altar would have once been.

A combination of 5 images,1 stop apart,tonemapped in Photomatix.
Curves adjusted & a slight crop to try & straighten things up a bit in Photoshop.....nothing was really straight in this building, the floor certainly was anything but flat !

F16 manual mode
tripod
F/L 10mm
5 bracketed frames
Raw files converted in Lightroom.

I don't think I have ever uploaded into the Architecture category before,so a bit different for me....& there are more, maybe even a mono or two...if I can get to grips with converting a couple.. so be prepared Wink
Thanks for taking the time to look...there is lots to see.
Janet xx

Beautifully captured at the perfect moment. At one time there probably was stained glass in that window and would have been spectacular. Wonderful old church and captured well.........Sandy

Nope..no 'gardening' done here Brian just as it was Wink. The Church & grounds are still maintained, grass cut & leaves swept away etc. I think it's done by one of the Heritage organizations as it's a place of National Historic interest.
