forgotton places

took this shot a while age but wanted to try using hdr on it, the sky is a bit noisy when viewed at a large size. its part of an abandoned asylum near where i live. Let me know your thoughts , thanks

I think you've captured the horror of the place very well. I love the mono. I don't think colour would have worked as well.

I agree with Viki, with mono the mood comes through in volumes. As for the noise, it could add to the horror as a sort of grainy effect! Superb capture!

Another good one.

When you refer to HDR, do you mean Tone Mapping?

To do HDR, you need multiple original shots taken at different exposures and combined to make a 32 bit HDR image.

Tone Mapping is often applied to this to convert the unviewable 32 bit information into 8 bit info that can be displayed on a PC or printer.

You can simply tome ma any JPG by converting it to 16 bit and running Photomatix or equivalent.
