This series has been superb, this is no exception! I actually prefer the cropped version Nick.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your comments Sarah, I was blessed with the best lighting I have ever seen this evening - and to think I contemplated not going out!

If I'm supposed to say which version I prefer then it's V2, more breathing room.

You have produced some smashing shots from here, this one being no exception. In this one for me its that bit of mist in the distance that the bridge disappears into.

I would like to see this one at real full size too, at the 1000px limit the caging whatever it is under the bridge at first throws you, looks like a real dodgy clone or something but I do understand it is down to the size on here. I hope that makes sense.

Your right Simon, its the scaffolding that a perennial feature on the forth rail bridge, for the ongoing paining (my clonings bad - but not that bad Wink ) - tho I reliably informed that they are going for a paint system that lasts!. The print (of the landscape version at least) details all the mist on the Forth, and I thought I hadn't captured it - you really see the difference in the print.

This picture is amazing, and have to say V2 is slightly better as for the reason mentioned above by Simon. Superb!

V2 for me, 'more breathing room' expresses it perfectly.

V2 for me too Nick, it needs the extra space at the top.

Thanks everyone, I must admit I kept changing my mind which to upload as the main image, and on reflection I think everyone is right about V2 .. It is V2 that I've uploaded to my web site, I just thought on here V1 would have more impact... I should stick with my first instincts !

I really do like the way you capture your images of this great bridge, very well done.

V2 too for me Nick, V1 just feels a little claustrophobic at the top.

Thanks Paul - I think we have both been guilty of the same thing today ! Just need to get rid of the dust bunny I just spotted in V2 before I print !

I liked the landscape version of this shot too but V2 of this one's the best of the lot IMO.
