Forth Road Bridge

By mar022
I took this photo under the Forth Road Bridge on 17/12/2006. I'm still really new to photography and was just testing out my new Nikon D70s that i got a few weeks ago. I thought the bridge had a different impact from this angle and looked much better in black & white. I wish could get rid of the bit of shadow at the top left corner. Comments and general tips are more than welcome!!!

What shadow?

It is an excellent shot of a bridge that, from what I hear, you don't want to stand underneath.

Good idea. i think the sun on your right is your problem. Your eye keeps going across to that spot. Go back on a cloudy/rainy day. Or mid day when the bridge will cover the sun.

You've found a different viewpoint, and it's great.

I agree with whytehot: the problem isn't shadow on the left, but burnout on the right.

I'd suggest less exposure, to avoid blank whites, thensubtle dodging and burning to even things up a fraction. (And I'll add: this sort of thing is SO much easier in the darkroom!)
