Found Things

By chase
Or should it be ' lost things' ? Maybe that's another image Wink
A few of the things I have picked up from various places, beit the roadside, in an old barn or in a field.
Would love to know what the T shaped thing is, perhaps part of some old plumbing system, it's very heavy and looks like lead.

Really wanted this to be dark with a quite hefty texture, then it's down to the light.

3 frame HDR combined in Photomatix, finished in Photoshop with the texture layer and the usual faffing.

Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.

You can't beat a great piece of grunge, with an suitably grungy texture too.

Things found to make a gritty still life. What I find with your work is that you collect things / items and produce images rather than photgraphing a monument or a sculpture which has been produced by the maker and not the photographer. The T Shaped thing is a drain valve for water systems. The jagged connection on the right is what you attach a hose pipe to with a Jubilee Clip so that the water can be dispersed in a safe place and not get your floor wet. Excellent Janet.

Nothing there I'd be touching with my bare hands...Wink
Your processing matching the state of the items and is very thoughtfully done.

I would like it more if there had been just a touch of colour somewhere. One of your red oil cans??

I was thinking a regulator valve for a gas cylinder, but will happily concede that Tom knows better. My thinking was that lead (is it soft as well as heavy?) would avoid sparks.

I shall now look for theose things everywhere.
