Award Shortlist

Four days old

By JuBarney
We were privileged to see this young elephant which had just been born at Bandhavgargh, India, when we were there to see the tigers. Mum is normally used with a handler to spot the tigers in the Reserve, and she was tethered as she was not very keen on breast feeding!

This image is dedicated to Colleen.

Many thanks for all the C&Cs on my cuddly bullock.

Colleen is going to love this, Ju Smile What an enchanting sight, and I hope the mother finally settles to breastfeeding her little 'un without having to be tethered. Carol

Fine shot Ju, glad to hear there's a good reason for the chains,

Beautiful family time for those Elephants ! I have noticed that the mother is crying perhaps because of the chains. Anyway, your capture is fabulous, Ju!

Lovely shot and such a shame about the chains. I guess they were removed as soon as she settled to feeding such a cute baby. Cathy

Great image.....and nice to have the story to go with it.

(Having recently returned from Africa, it's strange to see the Indian elephants.....almost looks as if their ears have been trimmed!)
