Fox, Otter and Water Vole

By Ray42
Many thanks for the kind comments and clicks on the The decline of fishing at Dungeness. Many thanks to Marilyn (barmymarny) for the modification, a good improvement - always pleased for feedback. With regard to the cropping of the foreground - I did try it but I felt it lost the essence of Dungeness - a good suggestion none-the-less.

These offerings are from a great day out with so many other epz'ers I met at the BWC meet - a great day out and so good to see some faces put to names. Some coming all the way from the West Country and some as far north as Birmingham. A great day out. These are not in any particular order as the water voles are always my favourite little animal.

As always constructive critique and modifications are always welcome.

Excellent set, Ray - I particularly like V2 (didn't manage a single decent shot of the Otters on Sunday!). Great to meet you at long last - hope to make it to Dengeness before the cold weather sets in again!! Incidentally, the Latin name for Water Vole has now been changed to "Arvicola amphibius"

A great set of shots, Ray, with for me V 1 the favourite b/o that intense gaze from the head lowered posture. But each shot is one I'd have happy with had they been my own. So I guess they'll have to share my single available vote.

In V1, and to a slightly lesser extent in the others, I sense that the animal is fascinated by the camera - maybe seeing light bouncing off the lens?

I just love the otter - I am very jealous of this image; I like its simplicity - the next time I'm in Scotland will try for something similar - they're usually about 100 meters across the loch when I see them! I love the water voles too - in fact, they're all super.
