....This is an alternate to replace the deleted one.
It's for Joe with thanks for his kind comments.
I would like to thank everyone who made such kind comments on my last picture.
I cannot believe it was as good as many of you said but I appreciate your comments and clicks.
...especially as it got me an RC. (grin)

This is a bit different, part of it was shot at the Cheshire falconry centre and part of it off the Northumberland coast near Seahouses.

Thanks for looking....Mike

I like this a lot-I like the contrast of the gulls in the background-great detail

Hi Mike, thanks first of all, this looks much better, with one or two reservations though, if you may bear with me that is -

a) the bird of prey looks grand, crisp detailed and lovely colours; however, the background kept relatively sharp and its contents, the gulls I mean, tend to distract rather than help your subject;

b)personally, I would have either opted to lose it completely by shifting my viewpoint by a couple of paces or, if that were not possible, retain the same framing and lose the background by going for the widest aperture (selective dof).

This, of course, unless you shot from pretty far away and the longer focal length didn't allow you further selective dof between your subject and the gulls in the background.

Hope you may find this helpful in future similar situations.

Thanks for your comments Joe, not that good though and suspect you are winding me up(grin).
I think you know it consists of one picture superimposed on another.
If I was a better photographer I wouldn't have to do this. (grin)

Mind you, always nice to hear from you.
