I'm curious as to what an f2.8 version would look like, possibly with the sharp focus on the mint leaf pin sharp, and the depth of field slicing in a fine line through the vertical macaroon. However, I would have done an f16/22 version too. According to the mood, reproduction size it's amazing how different uses need more dof. Then there's the joy of retouching all those dust spots at f22. My picture desk used to joke about having to take a few black specks off white plates, and then how increasingly wider apertures were used before the sensor got cleaned.
With around 470 restaurant review assignments behind me I can say hand on heart that mint leaves love being isolated in narrow depth of field, they are show offs of the garnish world
