One of my shots of my granddaughter Freyja during a lovely day out at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre in Cheshire.

I wanted to get some natural looking shots of her and this is my favourite.

I'd like to have this one printed and framed so I'd appreciate any advice on any improvements to the processing that I could make.

Thanks for looking

Thank you Dr Sharma. I'm glad you like my shot. I feel that Freyja's expression reflects her personality.

This is nice. Very nice. First rate composition. Your colours and range leave your Indian series a bit behind. I am quite sure it will make a cracking enlargement just as it is.

A shot like this is the ideal opportunity to force your flash up, so it provides some fill light. This would brighten her face and eyes, which are underexposed, and privide great catch lights in the eyes. Ever see wedding photographers in the out doors, - flash is always on for this reason.

So with the exposure lifted on her face, the eyes are not as sharp as they need to be. her hair is great, very sharp and crisp, but not her eyes. I wonder are you using the single focus point and placing it on her eye for the shot?

Overall quite nice, a few tweaks make it nicer. I found her face, and only her face slightly biased toward yellow, which I toned down in the mod. The mod is essentially trying to emulate a fill flash.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your critique. I'm glad you like the composition. I remembered advice I'd received in the CG when deciding how to crop an image like this.

Hi Willie,

Thanks for your mod. No I didn't have the single focus point on unfortunately, or the pop-up flash on. Freyja was running around and I was just clicking away as I wanted to get some natural images of her that didn't look too posed.

I'll try the tweaks you mentioned.

Thanks for your help.
