Friendship

By AngieLatham
This is my Partner and Kate's (Ktcam) daughter,Hannah (shadowcat),and her best friend Rory on the small Island of Ulva last Thursday.
They ran off ahead in their own little world of childhood adventure and discovery while me and Kate did boring photograph stuff Smile

I liked the composition of the picture and hadto take it quickly,so perhapse not as sharp and properly exposed as I'd like.

I wander what they were talking about.....ghost stories?....playstaion games?....what to put in their secret den?
Oh to be a child again.

Most people bend over backwards to avoid getting people in landscapes, and to give the impression of an empty and untouched wilderness. I think a reminder of the fact that there might actually be people there daring to sully the perfection is worthwhile.

Obviously my view of what this image is about is totally different from yours, which is obviously more personal as you know the people in it.

No doubt some others are thinking those people in bright red coats are completely spoiling an otherwise excellent landscape!

I agree, the composition is really good.
The children really make this, the fact they are wearing red is even better.
Very evocative picture.

You have it in right category where it belongs and the red gives it extra also. Nice portrait of friendship

Beautifully captured image, Angie...
Full of mood. I love it.

I like it, but I wonder if the top right part of the picture distracts us from the main subjects and their friendship. I think it's stronger if you remove the right side of the picture, or at least the top right brighter part. Still clicking though! John

Thankyou Chris,Simon,Peter,Ian,Jouko and John. Noted about the top right hand corner, it does focus better on the friends without it....thanks for pointing it out John! Smile
Thankyou for looking

What can I say but it's a fab pic of the terrible two!! They are definately twins in the spiritual side and as for what they were talking about? You can bet your life it was Grand Theft Auto or Sonic, lol Wink Nice one Angie,

The 2 children make this image Angie, the red clothing is a real bonus for adding extra impact, accidental? Smile

I agree with comments made about inclusion of people in landscapes, though its still sometimes nice to see a beautiful piece of natural landscape without us human bean type things!

The reds are so contrasting Angie and compliment a beautiful verdant scene...great exposure and have a good weekend.

Thankyou Matt and Doug Smile I can only vouch for the red of Hannah's clothing being somthing to do with it being her Mother's favourite colour (like mother like Daughter).I also liked how they both had dark trousers on and the same kind of boots too!
Thankyou Kate Smile

Nicely done. It looks so idyllic and surprizingly like a walk to the beaches where I live. But in the winter when things are green! And yes, that red really works!
