Friendship In Exile .

By UrbaneMagick
Many thanks for the votes , comments & awards from my latest uploads of Nepal ... very humbled.

In Nepal, there is a huge Tibetan presence .

I met some who had escaped Chinese persecution in the late 1950's, and the children of these will never get to see their homeland.

Chinese oppression of Tibetans in their homeland is as strong as ever , hundreds of Tibetans both general populace & monks have immolated themselves ( set themselves on fire ) in the last twelve months alone.

Simply for flying the free Tibet flag in Tibet itself, monks & everyday Tibetans are beaten mercilessly & imprisoned , sometimes without charge & often not released for years ..if ever.

This photo was taken at Patwan temple complex in Nepal during a Tibetan Monk conference of prayer, talks & chanting.

I'll be revisiting at the end of this year again with photography, but this time with a better understanding of the people and to meet again friends I made there.

Nepal is a wonder of a country, warm, welcoming and diverse and accepting in its culture.
