From another time

Abbeymill Farm - a section of a broken, discarded millstone. I wonder how long it has lain there, and how long it will continue to do so? All in the name of progress, I expect .......

With grateful thanks, as always, to the lovely people who decided to award yesterday's "Tyne" shot - Leo, Alan, Tony and Viola - and to everyone who thought it was worth a vote or two and a comment besides.

Even in its present state it will outlast many modern inventions i think. Nice to see, itís amazing how many of these there are in rural areas, in varying states of completeness, but still visible. Windows into the past.

I always think lichen looks as if it is grown in a lab (-oratory, not -rador) on a Petri dish...

Lovely detail Bob and must have a real story if it could talk. We have the smallest front garden ever but it does contain some lichen covered stones and the odd cobble or three! WinkWink
