I can only guess that the halo effect could be a result of the JPEG processing. Did you save a RAW file?

Looking at this you find yourself waiting for the waves to come rolling in around the rocks and on to the pebbles. Very attractive composition, nicely framed .

a nice view Ronnie - but it is the 'frame' which is so beautiful - those rocks the wave-- all the ingredients for a splendid seaside shot.
the halo... maybe it is a wee bit of vapour from the wet rock evaporating in the sun

Good morning Ronnie good use ot the big rocks to frame your shot and timeing was excellent capturing the breaking wave as for the halo Ronnie i cannot see anything on my hi def digital monitor

Could be owt, though possibly a metering isue, with the blue sky against the dark rocks.

The abrupt change from dark to light and the "normal" processing that is set in your camera is enough to cause the ghosting Ronnie. It's a fine day to beat the seaside.
