Frond or Foe...

By Scottishlandscapes
...on the beach near Pollacher on South Uist. The weed was seemingly arranged delicately by the falling tide, but it still seemed to have life inside.

The light sprinkling of sand along it's length shows up the detail of it's structure very well: as Danny says, always look down, sometimes up too.
The silver sand too is the star of these images from the Western Isles, Dougie.

A contrast to your last image Dougie. A fine natural close-up.
I remember the South Uist beaches, & look forward to seeing the ones in Harris.
Malcolm
Both your subject (looks like a caterpillar!) and the beach compliment each other really well, Dougie! It's almost like an alien caterpillar has landed!

Looks like some sort of golden centipede. With those indents in the sand on the right, it looks as though it has slithered over a bit TongueGrin. Moira

At first I thought it was another version of the car tracks Dougie, but this turned into a lovely, subtle natural abstract.
