Frozen in time

By helenlinda
Having sorted out some of Mum's Bits and bobs for an upload last week, I went through some of the photos taken at their home before we sold it and came again to Dad's shed
I had a feeling that I would return to this and have put together some new images from it - I will upload them on separate days as a great deal of time and thought has gone into each and so I do not consider them to be just "versions"
This is the first and its the cold blue memory - captured and frozen in time
Thanks for looking
Helen
I was initially somewhat disappointed with the response to yesterday's image - maybe it was a mistake uploading it on a Sunday? Not always suer what categories to click for a mouse-over or how to indicate what it is in the title ...........anyway ........................onward and upward, and thanks for the encouraging comments today. First day back at work and it was hard going - but I think I might go again !!!!!

Have to be honest, Helen, I much preferred yesterday's image to this one, I thought yesterday's really eye-catching in the thumbnail, but not so today's. Very well created, though, you must spend hours on each image, and have so much patience. Carol

The blue/greens have a watery feel, and there's the mix of precise detail and haziness that comes from dreams - maybe this is how I imagine drowning might be. Beautiful but not comfortable viewing for me.
Re yesterday's - Sunday is unpredictable, I'm sorry you were disappointed with the response to your upload. I personally prefer it in many ways because the mirror image is real.

This has a dark beauty. Sad and almost eerie. As Moira said it is difficult to look at, but so well done.

Brought back poignant memories of sorting my parents shed after they'd passed away. A melancholy image but it works well, good tones and light and almost dream like quality.
As for your other shot, when I was President of our local camera club I always told people to put forward shots that they liked. If other peole liked them too that was a bonus, but it doesn't take away from the fact that YOU like it! Smile

Don't know what it is, Helen, sometimes uploads you think will do well don't get the votes... maybe you're right about Sundays, my upload yesterday hasn't done as well as I'd hoped either Sad
Anyway, a nice piece of work here, well created. Keep up the good work Smile

Fascinating image....it took me a while to comprehend it's contents, but I got there eventually !, & the more I look, the more I like.....the sombre subject matter is brilliantly complimented by the textures & colour, giving (me) a sort of cobwebby feel to the shot...love it...1st class !

Thanks everyone for your comments- the cold feeling will not be everyone's choice, but in some ways memories do stop still in time and that's what I wanted to convey here - a warmer image to follow

How did I miss this one! Love the treatment, Helen! If I hadn't read what you wrote, I might have thought this was a prison with the shadows on the wall of bars. Stunning.

This looks like one of those memories we all have that we tuck away in a corner of our mind and don't want to look at too often because it's too upsetting... so evocative and so sad, but beautifully and caringly created.
