Yup, that sums it up. A lovely day here, and I imagine the same for you.

I might have included a little more at the bottom, for a bigger, more solid base. I think your crop at the top is just right, containing hte wisps of cloud and making a nicely balanced composition with the sun sitting near the lower left third. Near is near enough.

Would I like more in this? I don't think so, though others might. As it stands, it's a lovely, peaceful image: one htat encourages me to be at peace with the world.

Was the version shot through double glazing, at an angle? Or is it a double exposure, accidental or deliberate?

We woke up to thick fog, still lingering as I type. All the more galling as the Met Office is telling me that we currently have glorious sunshine...

I like the way this drifts from cool blue / greys into warmer light. It's that upward movement that I wanted to emphasise, hence a portrait crop. I think the sun balances the silhouetted tree rather nicely. Some tweaks to contrast and saturation, nothing major.

I'm seeing double glazing and gauze curtain in the version??

Moira

Yes, I like this.

Ive cropped wide and reduced mist slightly.

Very nice.
As a variation I'd like to suggest a panoramic crop... for me, concentrating on the lower part of the sky somehow increases the intensity.
But perhaps you may not like it.

A good sign when there are several different versions available by cropping hte scene, each lovely in its own way.
Thank you all for your comments and your modifications, very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Slalln't give up the day job just vet but I'm greatly encouraged. Smile

Re the version the window opens into the room and was at an angle of about 45 deg to the scene. I caught my eye and I thought it might be fun.

Thank you all

Kind regards

Peter

It's an attractive sunrise with subtle pastel colours, and you've wisely included some foreground interest in the form of silhouetted trees. Also, the muted background scene is another gentle touch, probably due to a misty atmosphere.
Well done for including the sun in your frame and not having it burnt out.

The modifications already offered are interesting, and so I offer two of my own.
The first has a composition that I very rarely suggest to anyone. The sun is in the centre of the frame. I didn't want to remove any part of the trees, but include them at either side of the frame, so the positioning of the sun had to be in the middle. I cropped the top and right to achieve this.
My second mod has a further crop, placing the sun on the right-hand thirds line and including only one of the trees. It's simple, and yet effective. I like this one.
For both mods, I used some noise remover, to take the slight grain from the sky.

Pamela.
Thank you for your kind comments Pamela and for your interesting modifications. They are all very greatly appreciated.

Peter
