I find this one is better balanced than the first image. In this one the garland being the focal point was on the right hand edge so you tended to view from right to left. In this view on the left side so your usual viewing angle from left to right which I feel gives a better flow to the image. Methinks?

Thanks again folks. The sword... Well medieval chivalry, particularly in its later romanticized editions, turned the sword into a Christian icon, and that was picked up by Reginald Blomfield in his design of the Cross of Sacrifice for the War Graves Commission.
I'm interested that a number of people prefer this to the previous upload. I wonder if it's the more accommodating left to right sight line?
