A 'private' gate very similar to one just down the road from me that leads to a very private fishing lake.
I'm nosey and always want to know where they lead to.
I do like V1 Keith, the mono, just for the lovely tones.

Quite often in France I'd see a chain acrossa track or entrance like this with as sign hanging on it "Propriété Privé" which seemed enough to keep people out! Not as picturesque as your gate tho.
My preference goes to the lead, just, even thought the split tone is effective.

It is a surprising new looking gate (very well captured) considering the state of the road that is across. Not used much?

Looks a bit redundant, judging by the way nature is gradually filling in the opening again...
V1 for me, Keith, the pure b&w without toning seems to be just a wee bit sharper - but that's probably just my eyes!

both work fine, v.1 being a slight fav contrary to my taste for toning

Thank you everyone.
It's just off the road Ian, about 15 metres but it all looks infrequently used.
A lovely gate image....I prefer the lead.

Peter
