I hadn't heard of Gatekeeper butterflies until this year - they have been prevalent in the garden all summer, at the expense of all else, it would seem. Last year it was Painted Ladies, this year the Gatekeeper, so I am told. Anyway, they settle frequently and are happy to pose. I have rescued several from the greenhouse and they stay on my hand until I have to nudge them off onto a flower. It's been my first opportunity to take pictures of butterflies, so I offer them my thanks.

Thanks - I'd like also to thank those two tiny little flies or ants who have ruined the shot! Wink
