Gathering Storm

By woolybill1
I hope the title speaks for itself.
Taken at 90 degrees to I Don't BELIEVE It! , as evidenced by the presence of the same young lady pondering the wording of her letter.

The base of Grey's Monument is on the right and Emerson Chambers (probably my favourite Newcastle building) stars in the background. One of the stone panels of the base of Grey's Monument has been repaired or replaced in the recent past. It looks distinctly odd. Fifty years' hence it won't stand out so badly.

Yes,it does look like the quiet before the storm.
Like No 2,and the ''new'' stone does look odd !!
A well balanced ''base'' with the line of people here.
And the Emerson Chambers puts me in mind of the Jenners building here.
Nice ones Bill.

Wow, that sky looks menacing, great atmosphere Bill. Interesting contrast between the people sitting there looking relaxed and the gathering storm clouds (Personally I would start looking for shelter with clouds like that Wink

The gloomy day is perfect for this shot. It seems the mood of the people is a reflection of the weather.

Excellent candids; what strikes me most is that the people seem oblivious to the storm creeping up on them.

Well the storm may be gathering but they all have bare arms and look relaxed. Today the sky is is dark but there is no way I could have bare arms I think its quite cool. Well done for getting such super light.

GREAT pic WB! I love the way they're all sitting in various poses oblivious to the ominous sky gathering behind them.

Today in Weston I walked aloing the seafront through a gale force wind and driving rain - had to walk at an angle just to keep on my feet - unbelievably bad weather. What the hell happened to summer!
