Geese Grazing Ruthven Barracks

By hwatt
Ruthven Barracks, Kingussie, Scotland.

I waited for simply ages for two folk nattering in red jackets in front of the barracks to end their conversation only to have the flock of geese that I had spied earlier grazing on the hill beside the barracks take off in a flurry of beating wings when a dog galloped towards them. An hour later they returned and continued to graze and I began my planned 4 shot panoramic with the lightest dusting of snow peppering the fields and castle mound gently diluting the colours beneath a sombre snow laden sky.

Fuji GFX 50S, 4 shot panoramic assembled in Photomerge PS CS5, GF 100 -200mm lens.

I am so glad you were patient. I have looked at this building so many times with no idea how to get an interesting composition. This is very effective.
