Gently

By hwatt
Loch Leven, Highlands, Scotland

This is one location that I just love to shoot in low cloud or mist or better still in the heaviest of downpours. On this occasion I had a mixture of low cloud and heavy rain and the combination looked stunning with the peaks of the Glencoe mountains including the Pap stepping back in ever paler shades of recessive grey tones. The rain effectively simplifies the tones reducing the colour hues to a monochromatic palette with only the nearest objects ie. the island retaining colour, albeit gently muted.

Fantastic shot of beautiful scenery!
Personaly I 'd consider cropping to a (for my taste with subject & this type of scenery in mind) more suitable 16/9 format with less clouds and more hills to be seen.

Right up to standard.

And this shows that bright sunshine isn't always necessary. Beautifully muted.
