Get Out Of Town.

By Tooma
I looked out of a window at home to see three large dark birds against the sky as they appeared overhead from our roof top. Then I noticed one of the three had particularly long legs as they headed towards the trees across from us. Those long legs extended as the large bird landed on the top of the largest tree. The other two birds, Carrion Crows, I think, circled and buzzed what I then reckoned was a young/juvenile Grey Heron, well out of its usual territory, there being no rivers nearby, apart from a small burn, The Cadzow, where no fish have been seen.
What I think had happened was the Heron got lost, and the two Crows were not happy with it in their territory, so they chased it out of the area. I had ran, best approximation I can do of running these days, downstairs for my camera, got back just in time for this one shot, and the Heron took off, thankfully in the general direction of the distant River Avon, with the two Crows in pursuit. All three quickly disappeared from sight over the farther away tree-tops. Hope the young one made it ok.
The Version is an edit by MO; she got rid of the graining in the sky. Unusually my de-noiser did a poor job of it on this shot.

A good capture, Tom. The territorial battle between birds. Just as bad as humans!
