Getting Ready

By dark_lord
A girl preparing for a ballet dancer display on the Canon stand at the Photography Show at the NEC today.
I left the colour balance as shot as the warm tones were much more appealing.

It was good to meet up with John (dudler) to put a face and voice to the name. Unfortunately we managed to miss Peter (peterjay80) this time round.

I feel you were correct in showing it in its natural colours, which makes it that bit warmer. Excellent result and from my experience at previous photography shows lucky to get room to take a picture!

echoing Ian: you did right not to tweak the white balance for this candid scene

It was definitely a good day, and I am so sorry to have missed meeting Peter.

As I missed this - there were plenty of opportunities to shoot candids, and in a photo show, there would be few who could compalin...

Ballet dancers are innately graceful. I love this relaxed pose which belies her strength.

This was the other side of the Canon stand where there were lots of EOS R cameras to try out.
So I had a play with those cameras and took a few shots of my own Smile

Luckily I got to meet Dudler for a very in depth interview.

Trying to decide if I would have added a light vignette, and maybe burned in the highlights on the lady's face on the left to tone it back a bit.

Maybe it's just me, I add vignettes all the time. There's a joke about me having the wrong lens hood on all the time.

That's an idea Phil.

I saw a guy using a lens hood at the show, and it was on backwards - at least he wouldn't get vignetting Smile
