Ghost crab

By pennyspike
Another from the archives to brighten up a rainy miserable day. I hope it makes you feel as warm as the water of the Indian Ocean, where this was taken.
It is a tiny ghost crab, the crab and sunset were taken within minutes of one another and it is essentially the view that I saw. Because these little ghost crabs move like greased lightning I took as series of pictures of them with the 100 -400 Canon IS lens using flash to stop the movement. I blended this one with a more leisurely shot of the sunset that really was behind when I took this picture.
It was taken on an isolated part of Lamu in Kenya, a very special and favourite place.

Fantastic work Penny! The detail in the crab and the movement in the water is superb. The sunset just adds that final touch!

One of the best pictures I have seen. Pity its not the moon because then it would have been my star sign and my ruling planet.
Thanks for your comments.

Great shot of the crab. He looks really 'fresh' in the surf. Also, he looks like he has a personality as in a cartoon. John
