Gilded Gates

By adagio
Many thanks for the votes & comments on my previous upload, with special thanks to Debra (deejay10) Tom (Buffalo_Tom), Pete (Peco) Ian (pink), Ray (ThePixelator) and Lin (sweetpea62) for the User Awards (PMs sent), all are very much appreciated.

A totally different interpretation of one of the three sets of gilded gates at Chatsworth in Derbyshire. Digitally manipulated to subtly focus on the gates without them looking brassy, and also attempting to create a timeless mood. V1 is a contrasting mono conversion and, once again, individual tastes will prevail.

Wow. Much as I am a b&w fan, the wonderful golden tones really add something here, and make a rich, highly attractive image.

The color makes for an amazing and beautiful image. If I hadn't seen it, I would have also liked the mono, but of the two the color version just shines. Good work.

Have to agree with Allan and Joline above. The colour lead image is very dramatic. Excellent idea which is executed to perfection.

I'm a complete B&W junkie, but the colour version just works so much better here. I think that the B&W loses a lot of the detail in the gates themselves, which can happen with mono conversions if there is a lack of contrast in the first place.
Good work.

Once again superb images, both are really first class, timeless, and needing no other adjustments, love them both.

Definitely the colour. It brings out the texture more.

I thought I recognised these gates; I remember them being re-gilded a few years ago and it looked like a steady job! Lovely image Angela. SmileSmileSmile
