Giving it 'The Beans' ...

By sut68
Just come back from a fantastic [but knackering] day in a Lakeland forest. Greystoke to be precise for the Greystoke Stages over the Malcolm Wilson rally stages there. Weather report looked less than appealing throughout the day ... ended up getting sunburnt ... go figure Wink

This is actually #0 course car on the final run through prior to the competitors - more of them to come later. Of all the shots I've taken today on the four stages we watched, this fella seems to be the one throwing up the most dirt consistently on every shot.

Right, MrsS is in the shower, my turn in a mo. Covered in dust and midge bites ... beer in the fridge is-a-callin'. Rally shots tend not to set the world alight on here so go on, break the mould and giveusaclick Wink

Cheers all,
Paul

EDIT: Meant to add that about 15 minutes after this one was taken a Subaru Impreza was 'off-roading' at this very spot where I was on this one ... glad I moved Grin

Did you find the jump there? I was there a few years ago, on a very wet day Sad. Difficult to get about on the stages cos I remember they were very narrow with ditches on each side....and several cars in the ditches too as the day prgressed. A fine rally shot Paul Wink

LOL ... not at this point Chis ... motorsport licence on this one, s'all the rage Tongue

The jump no longer exists Martin. Apparently a couple of seasons ago a gentleman in a Mitsubishi Evo decided to take off, soar and land amongst a pile of logs at the side of the road, so it's now been flattened for Elf & Safety reasons Sad Not that difficult to move about Martin if you're quick ... we almost got caught out on the finish straight as the breeze was slightly in our faces and so the engine noise was muffled. We made it to the side in plenty of time, but the MkII Escort RS1800 coming through was frantically sounding his horn [didn't realise they still had them in] and cruised past us at about 80-90 mph Smile

Cheers guys,
Paul

Yeah ... overslept though after issue with alarm, but had a great day up there. Malcolm Wilson was guesting in his RS 1800 MkII Escort and the rain held off ... good times Smile

Very nicely done Paul. Deserves to do well, but my own experience with similar shots on here aligns with your statement!

Look forward to seeing some more.

They flippin well hurt when they hit you though Martin Sad

Yup, sadly there are many genres on here that tend to fall by the wayside on here ... this being one ... aviation tends to be another in general, but at least you're doing summat to try and change that perception mate Smile

Cheers guys,
Paul
