They are only found on the Isle of Wight and a couple of sites on the Hampshire coast apart from Sand Point. I did not see any this year when I visited in mid June thoughSad

Ed are you sure it is not a knapweed fritillary?
the 3 little dots in the wing frontmost part tell me that!
and it is a fantastic capture

It is definitely a glanville Annette, the ones at Weston are slightly different from those found on the Isle of Wight and in Hampshire. The knapweed fritillary has never been recorded in the UK as far as I am aware!
