Amazing how some shots have the power to evoke an instant memory. I am sure we had these bricks at my school by the thousand and this really took me back there. Strong composition and lighting - great shot - steve

Very good imagery Eric. I often wonder at the force that is required to break one of these dont you? This evokes thoughts of dereliction and decay over many yrs. B&W was also a good choice for this. Well composed.
Cheers

None of that glass lying around was there Eric? I just wondered what sort of a pic would result if you used it like a filter.

Nice idea, Len, but the glass in these bricks was a bit thick for that sort of thing. These had just been broken and there were plenty of pieces around on the pavement, tho not too many big bits. The sun was really blazing on them, so I underexposed a stop to keep the detail. Unfortunately the upload has taken away quite a bit of the resolution. That middle brick in the second column really was lovely and sharp and very high contrast in the original.

Thanks Phil. Shame, I had visions of all sorts of interesting images arising out of those lovely little 'lenses'.

Sure can understand about the 50k Hooligan problem. One of my efforts I would dearly like comment on simply refuses to allow itself to be subjected to the process !!!

Good shot Eric..
The pic "tells a story"
Resolution is not too important here.

I love glass bricks and I love this photo. I like the angle that you have taken the shot from and the lighting suits black and white. PS (you've got some great shots in your portfolio Eric)

There really is "something" about these kind of shots of decay and dereliction. You've captured it well.

Many thanks, Sean. There was something about the contrast between the pristine bricks and the smashed ones that appealed to me, particularly with the sun lighting them up.
