Goathland residents

By TrevBatWCC
After a grey Wednesday in Whitby, the following day was sunny & hot, and I took a trip on a steam train on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to Goathland. Even though the TV drama series 'Heartbeat' finished a few years ago the village of Goathland - featured in the program and known as Aidensfield - is still very popular with tourists. The delightful railway station, which I'll upload later, was also used as Hogsmead, the local station for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.
Here are some of the local Goathland residents, which wander around the village oblivious to visitors. Some, like the one in V2, found the sun a bit too hot and took refuge in the shade. I wouldn't have minded rustling a couple of these to keep my grass short and neat! Wink

Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Great images which take me back instantly to the many happy days I would spend in Goathland and the surrounding North Yorkshire Moors.

A beautiful, if slightly touristy village, Trev. Heartbeat was one of my father's favourite programmes and he would take great pleasure in pointing out the technical defficiencies in the Aidensfield police/procedures Grin (as an ex North Riding PC)

V3 is my favourite, and the characters are far more appealing than most from Heartbeat.
