Going A Bit Loco.

By Tooma
I'm really coping quite well, considering the state I'm in and all the madness going on all over the place. Counting your blessings really does help; my title is relevant to content and a tad ambiguous. I took these four loco related pics at the Lathalmond Railway Museum place in Fife(shire). It is also known as Shed 47.

Based in the original WW2 locomotive shed, dating from 1942, at Royal Naval Stores & Transit Depot Lathalmond, Shed47 Railway Restoration Group has, over the last 21 years, been actively recreating some of the vast internal railway network that existed on the site until 1971.

They have recently added a narrow gauge line to complement their standard gauge railway. Both will hopefully be running again soon. Check website for details. https://www.shed47.org/ It is sited right beside the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum, so it is easy to combine a visit to both sites.

We had a run on both lines when we were last there - rare fun if you are easily entertained with old railway stuff, like me - must make a video and upload it to the cloud thingy.

An interesting set of images. The train looks set for Xmas, with it's green and red paint job.

You seem to know all the good places to visit 'up north'.Smile If I ever get up that way ( and my passport is valid) I shall get you to write me a list!

I was really taken with the train in V1. Most unusual design with section under the boiler missing! I do not think I have ever seen another train of that design before. A super set of the workings at Shed 47. A must-do when we can "do" things again!

Excellent, Tom - just up my street ..... or, should I say, "You're most certainly on the right lines!"?
