Goldcrest

Thank you for all the C & C's on my last picture. Today a first for me, a Goldcrest not easy to capture, they move quickly and are so small.

With the firecrest, the goldcrest is the UK's smallest bird. They're dull greyish-green with a pale belly and a black and yellow stripe on their heads, which has an orange centre in males. Their thin beak is ideally suited for picking insects out from between pine needles.

Two delightful images of this diminutive bird Mike, both are worthy of an upload. I saw one of these a couple of weeks ago in Victoria Park in Bath, sadly I did not have my DSLR with me
