A little soft, Louise, but very well captured, what a cracking pose. Carol

Not an easy bird to capture at the best of times Louise, small and spritely Smile Carol is quite right,it's a little soft.....the next one i'm sure will be better.

Lovely shot of Europes smallest bird Louise. Always recognisable by that golden stripe on the forehead. Just a tad soft on focus but I am sure you know that.

the 1.4X converter is the problem here i think, as some lenses just do not like converters.....you didn't say whether you used a tripod but if you did, it might help with the softness.......

i use a Nikon 200-400 zoom lens and i've tried all the converters with this lens and every photo is soft using it so i just stopped using converters with that lens and rely on stalking the bird and the photos seem much cleaner and cropping/resizing keeps the shot very clean with some editing.

hope this helps and i do like the position.....cheers...dave.
