Golden Brown

By MrsS
Back to the solo trip to Southport Pier and one of "that" sign from a safe distance!

Still can't believe you had to wade throught mud to read a warning sign! - - guess that's just me being nosey!! Shhhhhh!!! I can hear you! Wink

Thought another Pano might work - - the pier seems to lend itself to that format - - let me know what you think Smile

2.5sec @f22 ISO100 focal length 17mm

Hope Monday wasn't too stressful - - jhave a gr8 week and I'll catch up over the next couple of days (I hope!) Smile

Cheers!
Fran x

BTW : thanks to The Stranglers for the title - seemed appropriate as the image contains "Gold" and "Brown" (say it quickly - LOL)

I really like the composition and the way the bright sky is completely under the pier! You've caught some lovely tones in the clouds too.
21 Jan 2008 5:38PM
Karen is spot on Fran the golden light contained by the pier is what makes this so special. What does the offending sign say Fran?

All the very best

Some people will tell you that the song is about the drug Heroin but the drummer always maintained it was actually about Marmite. Whichever, some might say you are a 'Heroine' for wading through the mud to read the sign and there actually isn't much not to like here, so it's not really a 'Marmite shot' ... I like it Wink x

Great shot Fran, the panorama works really well and love the way all the orange glow comes from under the pier. (Ooops; that seems to be the theme of a lot of people's comments!)

Love the colours. Just love it, but then I like all your work, I wopuld have a hard time choosing if I had to pick only one.
