Golden Eagle in snow

By Enmark
Thank you all for the comments on my previous upload .Taken again in Norway a male Golden Eagle rips seven bells out of a ptarmigan .The weather was so intense I feared for the eagle. Outside the hide in these conditions the chill factor of the wind must have been tremendously low, driving there the thermometer showed -21 .Nice and warm inside the hide at -8 with the heater on though. This was taken before the sun had fully risen at about 8.15 in the morning . The windows in the hide were so cold frost patterns appeared within seconds .Its the first time I've ever seen cigarette smoke fall to the ground.Vapour from you breath frosted the lens hood to a depth of 10mm as it exited the lens port hole .

Excellent, one of the best Golden Eagle images I've ever seen. Very atmospheric in the snow.
