Not as good probably because I was pushing you out of the way to get my shot Ed, I can be quite a bully when it comes to getting a photo.

Now that's a fancy dragonfly, Ed. Interesting patterning and colouring. Like it wants to be a bee. A wannabee?

Very fine dragon Ed. What a shame that the left side wings are just clipped.

What on earth are you on about, if I was that desperate to get a shot I'd only have to mention that I'd spotted a certain creature in the vicinity and you'd be off like a bat out of hell!Wink lol Our Gary is terrified by the wild boars, wild cats, crazed sheep and mad locals that inhabit the Forest!Tongue

They are not a particular common type of dragonfly, if you want to see plenty of dragonflies, Woorgreens Lake in the Forest of Dean close to Speech House on the Coleford to Cinderford road is a good place to go

I think the lack of quality was due to it being taken in the wrong setting!

Shows how much I know about insecty things. I thought this was the thinnest, longest wasp I've ever seen. What a shame about the clipped wing tips on the left, Ed.
Looking forward to seeing your images of the mad locals and wild boarWink Or is that wild locals and.......
